Old-Joe LogoInfirmary History
The OLDjOE Infirmary was originally founded by one guy, me!, back about 8 years ago. My love for collecting my favorite childhood action figure was re-kindled with the introduction of the Masterpiece Edition Joe's released by Chronicle Books. Once I had that Action Sailor in my hands again I was hopelessly drawn into rebuilding my childhood collection which was long since gone. Along the way I came to realize that most, if not all, of the Old Joe's had suffered some form or another of "battle damage". The really premium Joe's command really premium prices too! I also learned that while the Internet is a really neat tool for buying, selling, and swapping GI Joe, it can be a bit aggravating when your item(s) finally arrives and it's not quite in the condition that you thought you had purchased >:[

How did the repairs get startedTangled Talk Box
One of my favorite childhood Joes surfaced @ Mom's house one day. It was an old Adventure Team Talking Commander ....and you guessed it .....his talk box (amongst other things), was in pretty sad shape. (But I was happy this guy didn't end up in the land fill!)
Well aside for my love of this hobby, I'm also a Product Designer and a Tooling Engineer by trade. As such, there isn't much anyone can do to keep me from trying to understand how things work once I put my mind to it (even stuff that isn't broken!). So I tore into this old talk box and after many, many hours of tinkering I figured out how they work and how I can make broken ones talk again!!!
From there I moved onto re-stringing, paint touch up, and much more (see Service Estimate Page for the full list). I even went on to develop my own Custom Engineered, High Precision, Replacement Parts, (Injection molded, Not that cast "stuff"). I developed replacement parts that, at the time, nobody else offered the GIjOE collector for the repair of Painted Head Era, Fuzz Head/Life-Like Era, or Muscle Body Era GIjOE figures (subsequently several copy-cats jumped on board...funny how that happens... hmmm).

Repaired Talk BoxMy idea of Service:
First a little definition... There's a saying, "Vendors sell hot dogs, and once they have your money they could care less if your satisfied or not, but Suppliers are our partners". Folks, I believe strongly that the relationship between a Supplier and his/her customer is sacred. You trust the Supplier to provide a product or service and the Supplier hopes that your first purchase is the beginning of a long series of transactions. That's the whole basis for commerce...
In the case of very old and fragile vintage collectibles, I'd say it goes a bit further. "These babies are tough to find" and a bit spendy too!
So it's simple... I guarantee that I will always spell out exactly what is wrong with your Joe's, what I can do to fix them, what it will cost, and what level of success you can expect to see when I return him/them to you. I guarantee that you will be satisfied through quality craftsmanship, strong communication, and the promise of no unwelcome surprises. The OLDjOE Infirmary wants to be the Number One Supplier of Vintage GI Joe repair and restoration for a long time to come.
